[edit] Microsoft Campus Agreement

ha, sorry about the late welcome, i didn't really check how long you'd been on. I listed it on pages needing expansion because I think it is a good article. I was thinking along the lines of benefits for the campus and microsoft. Now mostly it has student centered data. Unfortunately I don't have much info about the reasons for signing it as I also mostly come at it from a student pov. Solitude also added a list of participating schools, so that's good.

I can be of more help on your other question though :). Go to "Preferences", then "User data" then "Your nickname", there you can change your nickname display for signatures to whatever you'd like, and add links. That is also how some people have the little pictures, different color names and things. It doesn't change your actual username just the text that gets added with you do the ~~~ thing. - [[User:Cohesion|cohesion ]] 08:32, Sep 26, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] sg episode standard

actually the episodes "the Tok'ra" are both on one page as well (go see).

the standard is that if two episodes have the same name then they go in one article (used ubiquitously, and decided early on in the wikiproject's inception [discussion probably now archived]).

so "The Eye" is seperate to "The Storm", "Avalon" (ps 1 and 2) are in one article and "Origin" in another, and likewise "The Seige" should refer to all three parts.-- Alfakim --  talk  02:28, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Google Policy

Usually, I'll vote "Delete" if there are under hits on the subject. To merit a "Keep" vote, an article must have over 200 hits and must also be notable according to WP:N (and related pages such as WP:WEB and WP:BIO). Voting "Redirect" is if the article merits a "Delete" but is closely related to a subject that has substantial amount of content. I should include this in my policy...hm. [edit] pratical joke

While I do not believe that you have to remove it, I would like to ask that you do, seeing as it is very irritating to most Wikipedians. Thanks you. American Patriot 1776 18:04, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Personally, I think it is rather presumptious of you to presume to speak on behalf of most wikipedians, but whatever. It's been removed. :\ TerraFrost 19:47, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I'm not sure where you meant to put this...

... but this edit of yours was to the talk page for discussing the Village pump; I suspect you meant to put it on one of the six village pump pages, since it is not about the VP. - Jmabel | Talk 21:54, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

thanks for the tip! i've placed it in a more appropraite location and deleted my comments on that talk page TerraFrost 00:37, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The One Ring Article

You thought my starting paragraph overplayed the power of the ring. I wrote all of that section Powers of the Ring and no one has really bothered to change it except for minor grammar corrections. I admit, I got the illusions of the ring mixed up with what it actually does. I believe the rest after that is fairly accurate, though. Feel free to change it to something more accurate that reflects what the ring can do.--24.130.125.164 15:05, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikification of Apothecary on James Kim article

Hi and thanks for your comment. I probably should have put this in the discussion page before just unwikifying it, so I understand your concern. I removed it because 1) Apothecary is a common word which should be known by anyone familiar with the English language. We can't link every word just because some people might not know its meaning. Articles would have every other word linked. Those who don't know the meaning of words can look them up themselves. 2) The Church Street Apothecary does not even fit the definition of an Apothecary, which is essentially a pharmacy or drug store that prepares and dispenses prescripton drugs. The Church Street Apothecary, according to its own website is, "a provider of holistic, organic, and international health and beauty products for the entire family." That is not an apothecary.

I do understand that there is still an issue with possible other readers not knowing what an apothecary is and also it might be useful to clarify this. So I'd suggest we modify the article something like this: "The Kims owned the Church Street Apothecary, a retail estblishment in San Francisco specialzing in holistic, organic, and international health and beauty products." Crunch 18:06, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't mean to be condescending and I understand some people are learning English as a second language, but again this is an English language article and I stand by my statement that Apothecary is a fairly common word in the English language. If we start linking any word that might be unknown to non-native speakers, we'll be linking every word which is against Wikipedia policy. Wikipedia is not a dictionary. And, again, the link to the Apothecary article does absolutely nothing to inform the reader about what the Kims' store is about. Crunch 00:31, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Replicator-ship.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Replicator-ship.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] removal of material from the Lewis Libby talk page

You removed my question from the Lewis Libby because "[the talk page] is not a discussion forum."

Well, for one, it is a discussion forum. A discussion forum dedicated to improving the article. And for two, I, personally, believe my question is relevant to the article. If people on the right have criticized Bushes actions for not granting Lewis Libby, it should be mentioned in the article. Maybe you should be a little less trigger happy when it comes to removing material, next time...

In any event, do you have any objections to my readding my question? TerraFrost 19:44, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Yes. Please follow Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Your question is inappropriate. It does not concern "making improvements to the article." It is a question pertaining only to the subject of the article, not to impoving the article. I moved the content that you placed on my talk page to your own talk page. I do not think that you should re-add your question to the talk page of the article: Talk: Lewis Libby. It is not a discussion forum on any other matter than making improvements to the article. Your question is not relevant to that. --NYScholar 20:18, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
From the talkpage header: "This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the Lewis Libby article. This is not a forum for general discussion about the article's subject." Please consult that and the other headers. Such questions are not permitted in articles by WP:BLP. Please read the policy page and follow the related links to other policies and guidelines posted in it. Thanks. --NYScholar 20:21, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
Please stop posting comments relating to Talk:Lewis Libby on my personal talk page. Thank you. --NYScholar 21:00, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
I replied to your new comment on Talk:Lewis Libby. Thank you for understanding. --NYScholar 21:16, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Lagrangesatellite.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Lagrangesatellite.jpg. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Bombadil.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Bombadil.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
