Re: your speculation "without even reading it": your assumption is incorrect. Please do not speculate on what other editors have read, that is somewhat rude. Being incivil does not make your point stronger, even less so when said speculation is simply wrong.
Re: "Is Wikipedia only about history that can be seen in written form": Wikipedia is about information that is verifiable using reliable sources. A web forum (or even two) do not constitute a reliable source.
Please keep expressing your opinion on the matter but please also be mindful of Wikipedia policies on verifiability and reliable sources so as not to spend too much time on articles that do not conform to policy and have no hope of doing so. I'm saying that in all friendliness, in the interest of saving your time as well as others'. Thanks! Weregerbil 21:35, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Re: "How else would a speech-only ... colloquialism ever get included in wikipedia": if a figure of speech becomes widely used it can be included. Often by then its use has been noted in mainstream media too; I have seen newspapers discuss the use of smileys and LOL. For borderline cases we discuss the matter to gain consensus on the matter; that is what is happening in the AfD discussion.
- Please let's continue this discussion on the AfD page rather than on our talk pages. Discussion on our talk pages will be seen only by us the two of us and so has very little effect on anything. Weregerbil 21:54, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
