Having started out as a solo artist signed to MCA Records during the early 1990s, Terry Ronald moved on to songwriting and production and together with Ian Masterson founded production company Thriller Jill.

Ronald's diverse range of work includes songwriting and production for Lulu, Sheena Easton, Kim Wilde, Atomic Kitten, Girls Aloud, Geri Halliwell, Kylie Minogue and most extensively Dannii Minogue.

[edit] Solo career

In the early 1990s Ronald achieved chart success with a pop career releasing an album and four singles.

He joined Robert Palmer and Hall and Oates on a European tour in 1990 in order to promote his solo material. After each of the performances, Studio Sessions, a mini 10" album containing live studio recordings from Roma and two cover songs was distribued for free. During his time with MCA he became good friends with Australian pop diva Dannii Minogue and it was the start of over a decade of friendship.

Upon departing with his record label MCA in 1992, Ronald embarked upon a successful career in production and songwriting. Working with a diverse range of artists demonstrated his production and songwriting abilities.

  • Terry is in the studio at the moment working on EXCLUSIVE material with Dannii Minogue - check back for updates.
  • Thriller Jill, the production partnership between Terry and Ian Masterson, are also currently recording an album. It is set to be a collection of eclectic electronic cover songs featuring various artists. Dannii Minogue has recorded an electro-ballad version of the Olivia Newton-John hit "Xanadu". The album, titled Road Trip and released on Petrol Records, will also feature vocals by Terry himself.
  • Terry has very recently been working on live vocal arrangements for British boyband Westlife and British girlband Girls Aloud.

  • In addition to this he is hard at work with Girls Aloud on the production of their forthcoming tour.

"What the Child Needs" featured on the European release of Roma released on 14 January 1992. Although not a major chart success in the UK it remained at number one in the Kiss Chart for many weeks. It is still cited by legendary soul DJ Chris Hill as his biggest crowd pleaser.
