Terrell Rogers

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Terrell Rogers (1968January 12, 2008) was an African-American activist residing in San Francisco's Hunters Point neighborhood and who founded the Peacekeepers non-profit organization.[1][2] He was the father of Tierra Rogers, who is currently the number one junior guard for the Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory school basketball team.[1]

On January 12, 2008, Rogers was shot by two assailants during the halftime period of his daughter's basketball game.[1] The San Francisco Police Department declared that he had been targeted for the shooting.[3] Rogers' father, Adam Rogers, who was murdered on New Year's Day 1977, was also targeted for murder because he was an activist.[4]
