Terji Skibenæs
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Terji Skibenæs, (born 27 December 1982) is the guitarist of the Faroese Viking Metal Band Týr.
He was born in Tórshavn, but grew up in and currently lives in Skipanes on Eysturoy. When he was 13 and living in Denmark with his family, his older brother bought a guitar. Terji quickly got interested and learned a few chords from his brother. He then taught himself by studying tablature books in the local library and playing along to his favourite guitarplayers. He has never had singing lessons, but has a naturally solid basso voice. He played in the Faroese band Flux before being asked to join Týr by frontman Heri Joensen in December 2001.
Terji is the youngest of five children (two sisters and two brothers).
