The story is about a young architect who returns to India after having had a Western education and falls in love with a modern Indian girl, who respects Indian culture and her parents' wishes. The girl's father and the boy's father are business rivals, and are always competing with each other.

The girl's father hires the young architect to build a home without realizing that he is the son of his rival. The young boy does a superb job of delivering a beautiful house on paper. But the boy's father also sees the sketches and demands that the same house be built for him too, unaware that his son is also building the rival's house using the same design next to his proposed house. Soon, misunderstandings follow with some twists in the story and with a happy ending with the social message.
