The station is located in downtown Bogotá, specifically at Avenida Caracas and Calle 6^a.

On December 17, 2000, the TransMilenio system opened from Portal de la 80 to Tercer Milenio, which was so named for the park of the same name, located to the east of the station.

It serves the Estanzuela, Santa Inés, San Bernardo, and Eduardo Santos neighborhoods.
