Was his GM actually taken away? My understanding was that awards for bravery/gallantry were never taken away for any reason.--Ibagli (Talk) 04:16, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

He certainly lost his knighthood. My view is that the somewhat incongruous situation of his retaining his GM would have been mentioned by the press at the time. Slac speak up! 06:34, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
