Talk:Terror alert system

In the process of adding to the list, as I research from various governments websites. Suspect that the speedy deletion template was automatically included when i cut and paste my own template a few times, then saved the page. --Pepith 13:51, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Nothing links here
Why was this page created? Nothing links to it. There is already a category for alert measurement systems here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Alert_measurement_systems Isn't that sufficient? -- Davetron5000 14:40, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know, I could see having an article which described some of the common features of alert systems. I'm sort of surprised we didn't have an article on this topic already... a category isn't really a substitute for an article on a subject. -- nae'blis 16:58, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- That's true, but this article has nothing in it to qualify as an actual article. It's just a list of information available elsewhere. -- Davetron5000 17:08, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- Procedural/structural sidebar: We spend a lot of time here on Wikipedia in duplicative effort: related articles repeat common information, sub-articles re-state what the main topic already covers, etc. I'm just wondering if it's useful to have a place (perhaps not at this name, but somewhere) to cover the common elements of such systems, and then refer out to the specific warning systems. That, and "terror alert system" seems like a plausible search term, and unregistered users only get to search the main article namespace, by default. -- nae'blis 18:06, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
