Talk:Terminate with extreme prejudice

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Can anyone attest that any military, U.S. or other, actually uses this term?

If so, does anyone know whether its use pre-dates Apocalypse Now?

[edit] Blues Brothers

The actual quote is: "Use of unnecessary violence in the apprehension of the Blues Brothers has been approved."

The reference is not to violence, but to "borrow with extreme prejudice" (i.e steal). Cain Mosni 20:38, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
It is not in the movie. I have just searched three versions of the script, and it ain't there.elpincha 18:23, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Borrow with extreme prejudice

There is no reference available for this usage unless there is a dictionary of colloquial terms available with the term in it. However, I've heard it used (and may have used it myself). A Google search on "borrowed with extreme prejudice" returns a number of pages with the term in them. Rsduhamel 21:40, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
