Tennyson High School is a high school in Hayward, California formed in 1957. It offers 9th through 12th grades. Neighboring schools in the area are Cesar E. Chavez Middle School (formerly La Vista Intermediate until 1995), Bowman Elementary, Harder Elementary and Moreau Catholic High School. Tennyson offers a variety of classes that students may choose from, both academic and extracurricular. Among these are foreign languages, art classes, math classes, and English classes. Tennyson also offers accelerated Advanced Placement and Honors classes. Tennyson High also has a broad range of sport teams.

Tennyson Football is lead by Head Coach Terry Smith the Football program has improved by one game every year since Coach Smith has taken over the program
In 2007 The Lancers finished 5-5 one vote out of NCS playoffs Rickey Clark Jr. signed a letter of intent to play football at Southern Utah University
In 2008 The Lancers have many returners coming back including ALL-Hayward Athletic League Honorees QB Max Carmona,DE Sean Cummins,DE Desmond Camper,and Junior LB TJ Ner with the realignment of the NCS Divisions the Lancers look to be a power in NCS Division II and a NCS title contender.

Tennyson High School is located at 27035 Whitman Street in Hayward, California. This street runs parallel to the Bay Area Rapid Transit system with the South Hayward station less than a mile away. AC Transit has a stop in the front of the school to service students commuting to and from school. Several of the feeder schools into Tennyson are more than a mile away from this location. The school is bordered in the rear by the Amtrak Capital Corridor. A train signal and gates have been installed here at the rear exit to keep students safe. There is also a path at the north side of the school that connects Whitman Road to Huntwood Avenue that is open at all hours. there was an incident this year. Ahmad Rahimi was struck by an amtrak, He was a junior at tennyson high. A memorial was held.
