This article is thorough, but Tenacious D needs more backstory and a lot more discussion about the nature of the band, as it is not a conventional one.

- The article may deserve higher than B, but I cannot rate it as GA or A-Class, until the GAC review is over. I recommend that you re-nominate the article for assessment after the GA review is closed. Good luck!--Yannismarou 19:57, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Please discuss genres here before editing the article. Many edits have taken place on this, and it is a contentious issue, therefore discussion is advised. Tenacious D Fan (talk) 10:50, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Politics just for Bush-bashing
This whole section reeks of someone's personal attack on George W. Bush via an interview with Jack Black, and is reminiscent of the huge critisism section of Paul W.S. Anderson that used to dominate his page and was filled with similar quotes. I hate Bush as much as any free-thinking individual can, but Wikipedia isn't the place for personal opinions. I'll give it a week, and if no-one comes forward to discuss this further and prove it's worth, I'm getting rid of it and replacing it with something like:"Black is an avid supporter of the democrat party". Even that seems uneccassary though.JackorKnave (talk) 22:46, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- The sentence you propose is not especially relevant to the D. My view of the section is that it is very Black-oriented. If the D have certain political opinions as a group, and those opinions are expressed in the songs (for example, their pro-cannabis stance), then those opinions are relevant to the article. If only Black has these opinions (for example, anti-Iraq war), then they are relevant to his article, but not Tenacious D. Metao (talk) 01:53, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

- How about a para dealing with politics and activism. Some could be said about the D's charity work. Tenacious D Fan (talk) 07:31, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
I just meant it needs to be changed so it doesn't come off as an excuse to bash Bush. I think something of their activism should go in, and it's probably okay to state that they don't support Bush, but the quotes, especially the one describing him as "the worst fucking president in the history of time" really sounds like someone just using it so they can personally (however accurately) bad-mouth Bush on Wikipedia. This not liberalpedia or whatever it's called and Wikipedia strives to be as unbiased and encyclopedic as possible. JackorKnave (talk) 16:54, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- Agree totally. Tenacious D Fan (talk) 17:17, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
It appears I cannot edit this page. Is it locked down or what? Why would Tenacious D be edit free?JackorKnave (talk) 20:51, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

- Tweaked what you did a bit Metao. The D page is locked for editing by registered users only, so you should still be able to edit. Tenacious D Fan (talk) 10:08, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Still can't edit it, but that doesn't really matter since it looks to me like it's been fixed to be more neutral anyway. Thanks guys! —Preceding unsigned comment added by JackorKnave (talk • contribs) 16:57, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Other pop culture references to Tenacious D
I'd like to add a section about other people who have referenced Tenacious D or their work. Off hand, I can think of one example: in the video game World of Warcraft, a shield called the "Tenacious Defender" is in the game, with the added comment "It has the power to move you." (from the song "Wonderboy"). If you have any others go ahead.
- None of these will have reliable sources. They are just fancruft anyway. Please sign your posts. Tenacious D Fan (talk) 08:32, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- A lot of articles do have such sections, but I agree it would be hard to source whether or not a particular references is in face meant to be a reference, or is only a coincidence. Metao (talk) 14:34, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

There is a spelling mistake: "Kielbasa" disusses anal sex -- should be discusses. I can't fix it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mathewferguson (talk • contribs) 08:50, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Fixed. Thanks for taking the time to point it out here, dude! Metao (talk) 08:57, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] external links
Would a link to free (& legal & approved) downloads of tenacious d shows not be relevant? Addionne (talk) 16:14, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- Links are given here. That website in question is some kind of mirror of archive.org anyway. Tenacious D Fan (talk) 18:55, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
