Talk:TenDRA Compiler

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To whoever is maintaining this article;

In August 2003 TenDRA was forked when ten15.org was created after the primary developer of tendra.org took full control again of TenDRA development due to personal difficulties with one other team member.

This is information that's important to the history of TenDRA, that's been removed. I didn't write it, though I know the author took great care to be as neutral; this definatley needs to go back in to the article, in some form.

Most importantly, it needs to convey:

  • Why the split occured (without going into personal details)
  • Who was involved
  • That tendra.org is run by the guy who started the opensource work back in 2002.

It might also be mentioned that the goals listed originated on tendra.org.

Hope that helps,

I'm going to document a history of continuations of TenDRA since the DERA release in 1998, including the ten15.org/tendra.org split. I'm not particularly interested in qualifying the social motivations behind them; I'll try to just document what happened from the software's perspective, as a historian. Hopefully it should help reduce confusion, but I thought it might be of interest for this article, too. Kate (talk) 09:47, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
