Talk:Ten15

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Flex machine was microcoded, first on dedicated hardware and then on ICL PERQ. It implemented a capability architecture. In some circles, Ten15 is referred to as 'soft Flex'.

[edit] Comments on C

I chose my words carefully when I wrote the original article, partly as a result of conversation with the original Ten15 team. C does in fact identify the pointer to the first element of an array with a pointer to the array itself, so the 'removal of incorrect statement' applied is itself NOT correct.

Further, the choice made by the C language designers was deliberate - and it is also true that some say the choice was obtuse, including the Ten15 designers themselves. Thus the assertions made by me are verifiable and I defend my restoration.

I am grateful for the addition of the reference.
