Re-creation of deleted category Down Beat Jazz Hall of Fame inductees in more intrusive form. Is it really necessary to navigate between these artists? / edg ☺ ☭ 21:06, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Is a template really needed when only two of articles on it exist? — Scorpion0422 20:52, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
I intened to create articles for all episodes, and I thought it might help to make a template linking the article together. --T.M.M. Dowd (talk) 21:00, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Are articles needed for all these? What are they, 5 minutes each? / edg ☺ ☭ 22:11, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

The result of the debate was redirect to {{Globalize/North America}}. Since there is many transcluded pages. Please continue the discussion about merge of other templates here. Carlosguitar (ready and willing) 09:17, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
I am nominating this template because it is almost a duplicate of {{Globalize/North America}}. — Macy's123 (talk) 18:01, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Delete as redundant. CRGreathouse (t | c) 22:05, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Delete since it is redundant to the top template {{Globalize}}. All of those subtemplates could be deleted in favor of just the top as the top one is customizable. - LA @ 05:23, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Keep. I accept LA's argument, that if you really wanted to, you could delete all the regional templates. However, I disagree with singling out this template for deletion. The US and Canada tend to have far more in common at every level (everyone jokes Canada is the 51st state), while Mexico merely shares some geography -- culturally, Mexico is more of a Central/South American state. The North America template is a bit too general in this regard. Based on the nomination criteria, I vote to keep. Ham Pastrami (talk) 12:01, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Delete as nominator. Also, as I said above, this is not needed. {{Globalize/North America}} replaces this template. Macy's123 (talk) 13:01, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Comment, here is how you would get North America specificity {{Globalizecountry|North America}} or more specific {{Globalizecountry|United States}} or {{Globalizecountry|Maryland}} or {{Globalizecountry|Baltimore}} or {{Globalizecountry|Little Tiny Town in the Middle of Nowehere}} etc etc etc. Basically, all of the following templates could go...
- {{Globalize/Australia}} -> {{Globalizecountry|Australia}}
- {{Globalize/Belgium}} -> {{Globalizecountry|Belgium}}
- {{Globalize/Canada}} -> {{Globalizecountry|Canada}}
- {{Globalize/Common law}} -> {{Globalizecountry|Common law}}
- {{Globalize/Eng}} -> {{Globalizecountry|England}}
- {{Globalize/Europe}} -> {{Globalizecountry|Europe}}
- {{Globalize/France}} -> {{Globalizecountry|France}}
- {{Globalize/Germany}} -> {{Globalizecountry|Germany}}
- {{Globalize/Greece}} -> {{Globalizecountry|Greece}}
- {{Globalize/Luxembourg}} -> {{Globalizecountry|Luxembourg}}
- {{Globalize/Netherlands}} -> {{Globalizecountry|Netherlands}}
- {{Globalize/North America}} -> {{Globalizecountry|North America}}
- {{Globalize/UK}} -> {{Globalizecountry|United Kingdom}}
- {{Globalize/UK and Canada}} -> {{Globalizecountry|United Kingdom and Canada}}
- {{Globalize/USA}} -> {{Globalizecountry|United States}}
- {{Globalize/US and Canada}} -> {{Globalizecountry|United States and Canada}}
- {{Globalize/Northern}} -> {{Globalizecountry|Northern Hemisphere}}
- {{Globalize/Southern}} -> {{Globalizecountry|Southern Hemisphere}}
When {{Globalize}} is edited to do what {{Globalizecountry}} is currently doing, delete {{Globalizecountry}}. - LA @ 14:12, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Delete all the subtemplates and put functionality into {{Globalize}}. Most of these can be the same length with the application of a switch function. mattbr 10:02, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
