"Tempus Fugit" is the seventeenth episode of the fourth season of television series The X-Files. While celebrating Scully's birthday, Mulder learns of Max Fenig's death in a plane crash. What the agents soon discover is that the circumstances surrounding the crash may have been alien. This episode won a Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Award for "Best Sound Editing - Television Episodic - Effects & Foley" in 1998.[1]

- "Max Fenig is an anagram, when the letters are changed, XF Enigma is the result.
- When Mulder makes a sharp U-turn on the runway about three-quarters of the way through the episode, you can see Scully smiling inside the car.
- On The Season Four DVD, If the English subtitles are activated, the theme to the X-Files beginning credits have "Happy Birthday Dear Dana" Playing throughout.
