Tempted Stakes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tempted Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race held annually since 1975 at Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York. Run near the end of October, the Grade III race is open to 2-year-old fillies and is raced on dirt over a distance of one mile (8 furlongs). It currently offers a purse of $100,000.

The race is named in honor of Tempted, voted U.S. Champion Handicap Mare in 1959.

In 1990, the race was won by the future U.S. Racing Hall of Fame filly, Flawlessly.
