Tempo of the Damned is the sixth album by thrash metal band Exodus. It marked their first full-length album of new material in over 11 years, the last being Force of Habit released in 1992. It was widely praised by fans and critics.

This is Exodus' first studio album to feature Jack Gibson on bass. This is also Exodus's first album to feature Seve "Zetro" Souza on vocals since Force of Habit. "Zetro" departed shortly after Force of Habit and Exodus recruted original lead singer Paul Baloff (Bonded by Blood) for the release of their live album Another Lesson in Violence. Baloff died in 2002 of a stroke due to substance abuse and "Zetro" was let back in the band. Then "Zetro" departed yet again and Exodus finally recruited current vocalist Rob Dukes who would appear on their next album Shovel Headed Kill Machine.

This is also Exodus's only studio album to contain a song credited to Kirk Hammett (Metallica). The others are their 1982 Demo tape and the 1997 live release, Another Lesson in Violence, which also featured the song "Impaler."
