Temple of the Moon (China)

The Temple of the Moon (Chinese: 月坛, Pinyin: Yuètán) in Beijing, China, is an altar located in Fuchengmen, Xicheng district, western urban Beijing.

The altar was built in 1530 for use in ritual sacrifice to the moon by the Emperor of China.[1] The altar and the surrounding grounds are now a public park.
