Tempestt Bledsoe (born August 1, 1973 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actress best known for her role as Bill Cosby's daughter and fourth child, Vanessa Huxtable, in the popular 1980s sitcom The Cosby Show.
In the mid-1990s, Tempestt enjoyed a year long run as the host of her own daytime talk show, The Tempestt Bledsoe Show, produced by Columbia-Tristar and Dick Clark. In 2006, she participated in the third season of Celebrity Fit Club, and lost 19 pounds. She made a brief appearance in the sitcom The Parkers, and has been featured in the recurring role of a single mother on the ABC show The Practice, the Lifetime show Strong Medicine, and South Of Nowhere. Her most recent credits include starring as Nina in the Oxygen Channel's original television movie, "Husband For Hire", and Abby in the third season of Disney Channel's animated series "The Replacements". In addition to her acting career, she received a degree in finance from New York University and enjoys music.
Bledsoe is mentioned in Stephen Levitt's book Freakonomics; a mother named her child Temptress after Bledsoe, having mistaken her name.
