The article for Gordian III says he closed the doors sometime around 241 or 242 for the last time in Roman history, is that true? --AW 15:42, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

That article states he opened them, i.e. started a war which ended the last period of peace for the empire. The implication that from then onwards, Rome was always at war with someone. However, I have no idea whether this is true or not - if so it should be mentioned in this article. Modest Genius ^talk 23:24, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
