[edit] Conversion to Christianity
The following sentence in the article is a sweeping assertion given with no supporting evidence. "In dejection, many of the Ezhavas embraced Christianity, making the Christian population of Travancore increase from six lakhs in 1901 to 17 lakhs by 1931". I am not aware of a three-fold increase in the Christian population of Travancore in the first three decades of the 20th century as a result of conversion of Eshavas. If such a thing had happened, it needs to be highlighted for historians and sociologists to study it in depth. I shall be grateful for some shred of evidence.Jorjqt (talk) 14:32, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
