About her parents' beliefs:

according to [Smith, who raised Tempest alone, wasn't concerned when her daughter became interested in witchcraft. "She asked me if I'd buy her some books about Wicca, and I said I wanted to read them.

I don't think her parents were pagan. — David Remahl 12:26, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

according to other websites, her two mothers were pagans, mainstream newsmedia probably didnt wnat to fosus on a family where the parents we lesbian pagans.Gavin the Chosen 12:30, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

Quite possible. Can you provide a link or other reference? — David Remahl 12:31, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

I'd be shocked if there were lesbian pagans suing a school about suicide and religious discrimination and the lesbianism and paganity didn't come out in the media. Hipocrite 12:51, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
Agreed. That source does not seem credible without further supporting evidence. — David Remahl 12:53, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

I've done some copyediting, but I don't know anything about the story. I hope my contributions improve the article, please jump in and correct anything that's wrong without assuming I'm editing from a point of knowledge about the case. Just tried to fix up language. - Chairboy 14:39, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Shepard link

Although both are deceased members of minorities who died in ways that make me ashamed of our modern society, I do not follow the 'See Also: Matthew Shepard' link which currently appears in this article. Can someone explain the link to me, or why it should remain? Kit 22:01, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

I removed the link. Kit 21:48, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
I agree and removed it again. The two cases have virtually nothing in common. User:Angr 10:26, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
