[edit] clean-up tag

I added a clean-up tag to this page, noting the following issues -- page has a link to a webpage outside wikipedia, external pages should go in a seperate "external links" section. the "br" tags aren't wiki style. The writing style might need general cleanup, the page reads like a paper written by someone. "(unpublished, communication to the author)"??? There's a lot of Harvard references not given in a references section. Needs better referencing. A picture might help the page, although that isn't a clean-up issue. [edit] intro

I changed it, cause the prev version was not right. If you change it, please note that the important thing is the gradient. The specilized comment is quite fair and NPOV, if you are familiar with pubmed, you will know that 228 citations is miniscule. Cinnamon colbert 00:33, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] misc.

Not the most important thing but: "T Creighton of the MRC lab in England was the first person to do this" ...there's more than one MRC lab in England! If I get a spare moment with my journal accesses I may see if it gives more info in the reference given...TrentandtheAcrobats (talk) 23:50, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

D R Thatcher and B Hodson ( Biochem J. 1981 July 1; 197(1): 105–10) cite Creighton [(1979) J. Mol. Biol. 129, 253-264] as the originator of the method. The Journal of Molecular Biology is housed at a for profit publisher, originally academic press, but I think AP has been absorbed into a larger company.
