[edit] Admin bots
Bots will periodically delete pages in this category that were not edited in over a month
I thaught there are no bots with admin power? Agathoclea 14:02, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- Administrator bots do exist, usually run covertly through their owner's account. In this case, the sentence refers to semi-automated deletion through a human account. —[admin] Pathoschild 05:21, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

- I changed "bots" to "administrators" (after all, it is the administrator that is doing the deletion, assisted or otherwise) – Gurch 16:31, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Might as well note here that I've set up a bot to clean out this category, currently on RfA. --uǝʌǝsʎʇɹnoɟʇs 20:55, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- Keep in mind that this task also involves checking for subpages, and not deleting sock puppet pages even if they're incorrectly tagged as temporary. This should not be particularly difficult to do with a script, but it is more than a simple delete-all-listed operation. —{admin} Pathoschild 23:25:32, 03 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Idea
It would seem to me that if the page here could be organized by date it would make clearing it out much easier for humans and thus eliminate the perceived need for a bot. JodyB Roll, Tide, Roll 12:34, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'll put together a script to do that when I get my toolserver account.
...any day now... —{admin} Pathoschild 20:32:37, 04 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] We are wasting our time
It is a shame that the ease of creating an account that is then used for vandalism leads to a lot of wasted editing time. -- Alan Liefting-talk- 03:40, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Deletion of userpages
Why are userpages of indefinitely blocked users deleted on the English Wikipedia? Vints (talk) 08:28, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Template
On User talk:Thegone the template {{Uw-lblock}} had added the page to Category:Temporary Wikipedian userpages, this seems like a bad idea. Rich Farmbrough, 02:54 10 February 2008 (GMT).
[edit] RfC
Please join discussion on when to delete/keep user talk page at WT:CSD#Proposal for U4. -- Ned Scott 23:11, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Updating link, WT:UP#Proposal to not delete talk pages for all indef users. -- Ned Scott 06:48, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Hidden?
I know this is meant to be a maintenance category and most such categories are hidden, but something about this one being hidden rubs me the wrong way. It's like marking someone's user page or user talk page for deletion, in a way they may never be able to notice because the category doesn't even show up. Overcategorization is not such a big concern in userspace; can we just make this category not hidden? Mangojuicetalk 17:29, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Please take Notice - an editor is placing large numbers of pages in this category that are not indef blocked
See User_talk:Calton#Stop_placing_userpages_in_CAT:TEMP_that_aren.27t_indef_blocked.21, where I warned the user; however many pages have already been added. This is not consistent with the instructions on this page and could result in pages being deleted for users that are not indef blocked. Please use extra caution.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 21:20, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- A script I wrote shows the block log (and list of subpages) on the deletion form, so it is easy to spot such pages. If anyone is interested in using it, I'll write a cleaner version for wider usage. —{admin} Pathoschild 00:46:31, 02 May 2008 (UTC)
