Telugu poetry

Telugu poetry is verse originating in the southern provinces of India, namely Andhra Pradesh.

Telugu is a language at least 1000 years old [1]. Poetry from that language is quite ancient as well and covers spiritual, mythological and secular writings. While the language is quite old, English translations of the Telugu poets is rather new having begun in earnest around 2002. Telugu poetry continues to be penned today.
