Telstar Combat!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Telstar Combat! is an early dedicated video game console released by Coleco in 1977, as one of many units in Coleco's Telstar series of dedicated consoles.

Unlike Coleco's earlier home Pong clones based on the General Instrument AY-3-8500 chip, it used the AY-3-8700 "Tank" chip. The console was a modest success but due to having too many similar dedicated console products, Coleco nearly went bankrupt in 1980.

The similarly named Combat was one of the launch titles for the Atari 2600 later in 1977.

[edit] Gameplay

Gameplay consists of four variations on Kee Games' Tank. The system features four fixed joysticks (two per player).
