Tellinidae is a family of bivalve molluscs of the order Veneroida.
The shells are ovate or elongated, more or less flexed or rostrate at the posterior end, and with an external ligament. There are two cardinal teeth in each valve, tending to be bifid, and lateral teeth are present in at least one valve.
Distribution is cosmopolitan.
