The Telegraph Act of 1868 (31 & 32 Vict. c.110) was an Act of Parliament in the United Kingdom. The act paved the way for the British state to take over telegraph companies and/or their operations.

In the words of the act :

An Act to enable Her Majesty's Postmaster General to acquire, work and maintain Electric Telegraphs.
