[edit] Problems...
First of all, a lot of this seems to be large part conjecture, or at least material drawn from spin-off sources which isn't properly labelled as such. I'm not aware of any information about how the Cybermen came upon Telos beyond what was said in Tomb and Attack. And there's a number of obvious errors, too: Mondas couldn't have "entered Telos's system" in the 23rd century, as it was destroyed three hundred years earlier. So I tagged thing with a {{disputed}} tag, and would request that there someone provide citation for many of the claims made therein. – Seancdaug 18:41, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC)
- Aik! You're right there, Sean. There are a few fact problems here, especialy since Mondas was destroyed in 1986, as dictated in The Tenth Planet. - Okay, I have checked online and in written material; somewhere within the 15-year publication gap, the story of how the Cybermen came to Telos has been changed somehow. In the Official Doctor Who Technical Manual, it was dictated that, prior to the planet's destruction, Mondas had strayed into the Telosian system, and converted the Cryons to Cybermen, whereas on Whoniverse, the Cryons were converted by stray Cybermen units who had survived the destruction. With this in mind (and I'm sure khaosworks will probably agree with me here), this places the canonicity of the Technical Guide up for dispute. - In any case, the Tech Manual by Mark Harris is in the same canonical strata as all other spin-off literature. I'd be hesitant in taking anything it says as gospel as opposed to better cross-referenced secondary sources such as the Doctor Who Reference Guide or the Whoniverse, who at least cite their primary sources. --khaosworks June 30, 2005 09:44 (UTC)

Maybe not worthy of note, but I'll mention it here anyway, the very similar 'tellus' is Latin for Earth. I wonder if this was mentioned as the inspiration for the naming of Telos anywhere?Number36 00:21, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
