Tehransar is a locality west of the city of Tehran, the capital of Iran. Tehransar is a district in Western Tehran, and part of municipality region 21. It is home to Tehran's most rich companies as well as the Iran Khodro , Saipa , Pars Khodro ,kerman khodro, shahabkhodro,Iran Tire,Minoo Industrial Group, arj, daroogar, pars electric, daroopakhsh, loghman and BMW Iran - Nouriani Enterprise
The most famous part of the area is 14th Street. This is where the newest shopping center and many fashionable locales, including top-end shops and chichi cafes, can be found. Not everyone of course considers this part a desirable living place, since the traffic often gets gridlocked on summer nights.
Before Tehransar was officially incorporated into the city of Tehran, the area consisted of expansive residences and villas used as summer homes for wealthy residents of Tehran. Today however residential towers have replaced them for good and few of those villas have actually escaped development.
Most of the land in this district once belonged to National Iranian Oil Company , known to be the richest company in Iran .
