The Tehran Jewish Committee, formally registered in 1934, is an umbrella group of Jewish organizations that work on behalf of the Persian Jews in Iran.[1][2] Haroun Yashayaei is the present chairman of the board of the Tehran Jewish Committee.[3][4] On January 26, 2007, Yashayaei's letter to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad concerning his Holocaust denial comments brought about worldwide media attention.[5][6][7] The director of the Tehran Jewish Committee is Dr. Ciamak Moresadegh, who is also a doctor and director of the Jewish Community's Dr. Sapir Hospital and Charity Center in Tehran. The Dr. Sapir Hospital and Charity Center is funded through the Tehran Jewish Committee.[8]
