Teh See

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Teh see (also "teh si" or "teh-C") is tea made with evaporated milk as in Malaysia and Singapore. It is sold from kopi stalls and in coffee shops.

Similarly, kopi-C is coffee made with evaporated milk.

In the name, "teh" is the Malay word for tea, "kopi" is the word for coffee, and the "see" or "C" derives from the initial letter of "Carnation," which is an internationally known brand name of evaporated milk now manufactured by the Nestlé company. The brand name originated in America when a grocer, E.A. Stuart, and a business partner founded the Pacific Coast Condensed Milk Company in Kent, Washington, on 6 September 1899.
