Tegan (No, not after the Dr. Who character - it's my own given.)

Stumbled in here after googling Warren Zevon - long may his music reverberate.

First thing I had to do when I discovered what I was dealing with, in Wikipedia, was change possessive of it, written it's, to its on Wikipedia:Replies to common objections. Because that's exactly what I always do. Now I understand that this is because I'm a natural-born WikiGnome (albeit the lazy kind).

In fact, I'm almost making a living as one.

When I'm more familiar with the place, I hope to participate in the works on pseudoscience and skepticism and their ilk.

  • Software discoveries for the Internet Explorer-afflicted
    • Google's toolbar, Free at http://toolbar.google.com/, is excellent both for providing quick search capability and for the pop-up blocker. It also provides an "autofill" function for many online forms, and a utility that lets you put a link to the current page into a blog. I'd never had a blog, but they made it easy, so I set a private one up for my own use. In the process, I discovered
    • ieSpell - Free Spell Checker for Internet Explorer, free at http://www.iespell.com/, which it turns out I didn't need for my blogger.com blog but which I'm using here. Works just swell.
    • Ad-Aware Free at http://www.webattack.com/get/adaware.shtml, helps keep the spyware out of your system.
  • Software discoveries for the Firefox enabled
    • Google's toolbar, Free at http://toolbar.google.com/ - now available for Firefox -- Yay! With built-in spellchecker, so never mind about that.
