The genus Tegenaria has several famous members, including the notorious hobo spider (Tegenaria agrestis), the domestic house spider (Tegenaria domestica) and the giant house spider (Tegenaria duellica).

The Giant House spider is known to kill its smaller cousin the Hobo because the two compete for resources.

The Hobo Spider is possibly the most venomous of the genus Tegenaria, though this has not yet been scientifically proven.
