Talk:Tegan Jovanka
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
We can establish Tegan's date of birth as 22 Sep 1960 from The Gathering, is this worth mentioning, and if so where? Possible canon issues might wantus to avoid putting in the lead section. Tim! 17:30, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pics
We should add more pics, seriously. Tegan was one of the best Who lovelies, in my humble opinion. ;) --Promus Kaa 17:34, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pun
In The Eight Doctors, during the sequence about the 5th Doctor, a game of cricket is proposed, and it is decided that the Doctor and Turlow will bowl and bat; Tegan responds that she will therefore be "fielding all day", an obvious pun on the name of the actress who portrays her. Worth mentioning in the article?--Jeffro77 (talk) 08:20, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Confusion about Janet's accent
I'm confused about this - in old clips on the Doctor Who DVDs of interviews with Janet around her time on Doctor Who she speaks with a very upper-class posh English accent. So, i take it she put on Tegan's Australian accent then?
However, on the DVD commentaries and a recent talking heads feature on the Five Doctor's DVD re-release, Janet is speaking with an Australian accent. Is this a case of her picking up an English accent when she lived in England working on Doctor Who then returning to her native Australian over time? From looking over the internet i think quite a few people thought Janet wasn't actually Australian (in the vein of Nicola as American Peri).
Anyone able to clarify this? Winterspell (talk) 16:43, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
