[edit] Cheers
Ted, you are a sight for sore eyes!
I have pasted in my new proposal at WP:DAB (here), I'd love to hear your opinions, either here on the talk page there.
William really buggered things up (as you noticed and first pointed out, it took me a couple of days to realise and jump into action). The new proposal (or a variant) will hopefully fix up the mess of dab page templates and categories.
Unfortunatly William can't understand what he's done wrong and now wants me to leave Wikipedia until I graduate (which is just over a year). I'm trying to sort that out on his talk page.
William has been constantly attacking you (and now teenagers apparently, lucky I had a birthday a couple of months ago :) ), if you would like to take up dispute resolution against him let me know - he is out of line and heavily disrupting talk pages (as well as the damage he's already done in implementing his new system for dab pages). Nice to hear from you.--Commander Keane 17:03, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiIndex message
Thank you for the message.
As I've visited various Wikis, as well as various message boards and social-interaction websites (e.g. slashdot, etc.), I have been registering my user name BlankVerse, mostly as a preemptive strike. I've been surprised that in most cases the user name has been available. My biggest failure so far is that I haven't been able to find a good free blog website where the user name was available (it's also unavailable as .com, .net, .org, and .info domain names, so I'd have to settle for blankverse.us or something similar).
At least for any MediaWiki-based Wiki, I've usually entered a link back to my Wikipedia user page and looked to see what sort of welcome template they had (if they had one). When they haven't had a welcome template, I've always added the same slightly snarky note in the edit summary. You're the first person who has ever responded to that note.
Since WikiIndex was not in the interwiki map at Meta, I've put in a request for it to be added (see meta:Talk:Interwiki map#New to Add).
If I end up spending more time at WikiIndex, I'll probably help create a welcome template. On the other hand, I have been dissatisfied with the Wikipedia welcome message, but I haven't yet figured out what I would do if I created my own version of the welcome message (other than it definitely will not be a colored box like so many of the personalized welcome messages). [edit] WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request
This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 21:44, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New WikiProject Illinois Collaboration Division
Hey, saw you were a participant in the Illinois WikiProject. I thought I would let you know that there is a new Collaboration Division up for the project. The goal of the division is to select an article or articles for improvement to Good article standard or higher. There is a simple nomination process, which you can check out on the division subpage, to make sure each candidate for collaboration has enough interested editors. This is a good way to get a lot of articles to a quality status quickly. Please consider participating. More details can be seen at the division subpage. IvoShandor 11:23, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: consensus poll on Universal Wiki Edit button
Have you seen this? http://www.aboutus.org/UniversalWikiEditButton
and this? http://www.aboutus.org/Portal:ConsensusPolls
There's active work happening right now with and on Consensus Polls. Thought you might be interested after your work on this last fall here at wikipedia. peace, Tedernst | talk
- Yeah, I'd spotted some discussion of that on the mailing lists or somewhere. That sort of thing seems like an ideal situation for consensus polling to be applied, although it doesn't seem clear from that page exactly which design is being considered. I might go participate if I have some time. --bainer (talk) 06:40, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bot approved: dabbing help needed
Hi there. Fritz bot has been approved at Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/FritzpollBot for filling in a possible 1.8 million articles on settlements across the world. Now dabbing needs to be done for links which aren't sorted as the bot will bypass any blue links. and I need as many people as possible to help me with Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/Places to prepare for the bot. If you could tackle a page or two everything counts as it will be hard to do it alone. PLease also pass on the message to anybody else who you may think might be willing to help. Thankyou ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 12:22, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
