[edit] About Ted Knight and MTM show

About midway through the 4th? season of Mary Tyler Moore show there was a episode where Ted Baxter leaves WJM to try out as a host of a New York City TV Game Show. Was Ted Kinght getting tired of playing Ted Baxter typecast and thinking of leaving MTM?

I cannot answer your question. As best as I know, it was just the plot of a single episode. The timing of the episode's production/telecast and the alledged complaints of typecasting by Knight appear to be coincidental.72.82.175.2 22:34, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Military Decotations

I was not aware that Ted Knight was a decorated WWII soldier. My research doesn't turn up his name. Am I wrong or should this be changed? Larrycroft (talk) 02:45, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Although Knight's service during World War II certainly deserves recognition, I believe the stories of his exploits in that war are apocryphal. I think his five battle stars are sometimes mistakenly mis-reported as bronze stars, which would make him perhaps the most highly decorated soldier ever. Several months ago, I edited this section to contain only factual information about his service. (See this revision.) —xanderer (talk) 14:56, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
