[edit] Answer to the Was Dorus Rijkers a volunteer? question

Yes, he was one. But he worked so often, and so much, that he didn't had any time for payed work anymore. In order to keep their best live-saver of all time, the KNMRgave him (and some of his finest cre-members) a bit of a salary. But he really was a volunteer. Because he voluntary gave up all his changes for making much money and career, in order to save the lives of endangared sailors (he was a quite succesfull captain with his own ship before joing the lifeboats. Thanks for improving spelling in some of my articles! Spelling wasn't my best subject at school, and it ain't nowadays. I'm partly Dutch\partly Iranian, and although I'm quite good at English, and speak it rather fluently, I'm still not on the niveau of a native-speaker, and that way, I'll make more spelling faults! Are you? Well thats great! I live in the Netherlands, you know, for about all my life (but I was born in Iran), and I make loads of Dutch-related articles. Especially the Frisia-related ones, and also some native-american and Iranian-istory articles. They where good articles, but you improved them by correcting spelling; again, thanks.
