Template talk:Technical (expert)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

How bout Technical (expert)|SUBJECT so we can list the subject? Need a template that says "This article's written in the jargon of its subject, so we need an expert in (SUBJECT) to de-jargon it." Basilwhite 04:35, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Often subject experts may not be able to write clearly for a lay person, so it may not be the best option to call on an expert in the subject unless that person is also gifted in writing. What may be needed is someone who is an expert at technical writing, who has the ability to take jargon and turn it into everyday English (or whatever). The tech writer may be able to work best if s/he can consult a subject expert in the process, but a lone subject expert isn't likely to be of a lot of value in de-jargoning something.
