Technology in Education (academic program)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Since 1979 the Technology in Education (TIE) program at Lesley University has been a pioneer in the field and has been highly influential, inspiring similar programs at many institutions across the country. The program's primary focus is on the use of computers and other technology in support of student learning, accommodating the full range of learning styles and special needs, and fully integrating technology into the curriculum. The courses challenge students to reflect on classroom practice and identify ways to use technology effectively and with vision. Computers are used to organize data, promote collaborative problem solving, encourage learning and communication in a global context, develop models, conduct research, and support the creative process.
