TechExcel Inc. is an independent software vendor specializing in scalable, Agile software development with their knowledge centric DevSuite Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platform. TechExcel offers both single point stand alone products in each of the domains of ALM, which can be combined to create a fully-integrated software suite which addresses all stages of Application Lifecycle Management: requirements management, project and resource management, issue and bug tracking, quality assurance testing and automation management. The company believes that the question isn’t when to go toward scalable and agile development, but rather how – and proposes its solution, DevSuite, as the platform by which small and large companies can “go agile.” By introducing this approach, the company believes that it solves the many collaborative challenges traditionally associated with managing software development using tools from different vendors which rarely integrate with one another.
TechExcel is most commonly known for their DevTrack product – an intuitive and highly configurable project, issue and bug tracking software solution which debuted in 1996.
TechExcel is headquartered in Lafayette, California.

[edit] History
[edit] Company foundation by Tieren Zhou:
TechExcel was founded in 1995 as a privately held software consulting company. Within just a few months, TechExcel had recruited four developers, a small administrative staff, and several large clients including Microsoft, Lockheed Martin, and ADP.
[edit] DevTrack
The first major product from TechExcel occurred as the company searched for the best defect tracking solution to use for TechExcel's consulting projects. Unable to find one that met his standards and requirements, they launched a project to build their own, and in 1996, DevTrack was introduced. Early DevTrack customers include Hewlett Packard, Texas Instruments, and Dolby Labs.
[edit] ServiceWise
The second phase of TechExcel’s product line was initiated when DevTrack customers asked for a similar comprehensive solution for their customer support teams. TechExcel's development team spent nearly six months working closely with these demanding companies refining the underlying conceptual model of the company's second product, ServiceWise, introduced in 1999.
