[edit] Update

I have added the definition of "technosexual" that relates to robot fetishism. I believe that this was the original meaning of the term, but I have no references to cite. Both definitions are rather obscure though, so judging by the most popular results on google, I've made my definition the latter one. Robotman1974 13:24, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Perfect. I added an image that reflects this original definition. --Loremaster 12:11, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] disassociation from metrosexual

I disagree that technosexual is a portmanteau word combining "technophile" and "metrosexual".

Instead technosexual is an alternative urban lifestyle distict and not part of metrosexuality.

A technosexual would go to the science museum

A metrosexual would go to the Tate modern.

both would drink latte and eat organic food.

As i understand its usage, both terms derive from Heterosexual and not one from the other.

both t. and m. sexuals are modern men living urban lives but m. is more artistic and t. is more boy's toys

You would be wrong since a technophile heterosexual and a technophile metrosexual are two different things, and the latter best describes what a technosexual is. --Loremaster 12:10, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hak5

I think "Technolust" should be redirected to "Hak5", because Hak5's slogan is "Trust Your Technolust". Someone might search Wikipedia for "Technolust", get this article, and it can be very misleading to what Hak5 means by it.

The actual article Technosexual should be left alone.

OK. --Loremaster 12:10, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Judeai l.jpg

Image:Judeai l.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The use of this image is justified by the fact that the fictional android Gigolo Joe, played by Jude Law in the 2001 science-fiction film A.I. has been cited as being a technosexual icon. --Loremaster (talk) 05:00, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sexual identities template

I've removed the sexual identities template because technosexual is not a sexual identity in the sense that it is used for that template. Sexual identity is, generally, an in-born trait, and fancying PDAs is not.

I also removed technosexual from the template. Please refer to the template talk page for my justification in doing so. There must be another template that is more appropriate, like something about fetishes, or people who have too much time and money to invest in making up silly self-descriptors..
