[edit] Neo-classical metal?

Has neo-classical metal ever been referred to as technical metal? --Pasajero 01:50, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Original research

This stub has been tagged with a "no sources" tag since August 2006, upon reading the stub it seemed like the article was about progressive metal and then upon looking at the "list of technical metal bands" I noticed that all those bands were clearly established progressive metal bands. Furthermore, Technical metal could not possibly be a genre because any type of metal can be "technical", the term is more of an adjective than a whole new genre. I'm going to redirect the article to progressive metal since all the content here is already featured in the progressive metal article and all the bands listed here are progressive metal bands. --Leon Sword 19:49, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Reverted your Edit on the baisis that there is a differance between tech and prog metal. Bands like Gorguts, Athiest, Watchtower and Meshuggah are regonized as Tech metal. This is a regonized subgenre, not well known, but still worth having. I will continue to add sources. And the page says this is a croos genre term. This is just an example of an editor who knows nothing about the genre redirecting based on the fact that he's never heard of it. Scipo 16:55, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

It appears to have been tagged for over a year now, without any reliable sources to verify it. A redirect is better than unreferenced and unreliable information. The only source in the edition of the article I sent back to redirect links back to Wikipedia - to the Progressive metal page.--Alf melmac 11:47, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

When you Google tech metal, You get over 6 million Results. Hardly original research Scipo 16:56, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

As I said, the article has been without reliable sources for verfication, two of the most important aspects to support having an article. No doubt there are many hits on google, how many of those will turn out to be usefull for the purposes of the article is a different question. Please note the two pieces of guidance that trouble me here - Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Reliable sources, these need to be in the article or it is worthless.--Alf melmac 18:52, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Actually, when you google "technical metal" you get 76,300 hits.--Alf melmac 19:33, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
