Talk:Techie
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
it would break your cadence, but I'm tempted to drop the last line.
Any suggestions on whether or not to proceed? Someone who's earned their bullshit could re-edit this more carefully. So I guess I'm saying I'm going to do it. It'll break the 'this isn't EB' flow, but who gives a fuck? I sure don't
^ what was I thinking ?????
This is all by Stilroc BTW
- Is the last sentence of this article really neccesary? It's interesting, but perhaps not encyclopedic. If it is to be kept, can it at least be cleaned up? (The Swami 02:44, 4 October 2005 (UTC))
[edit] I dispute some of this content.
I personaly belive that Techies do not always disregard obsolete tech. In fact, a working Compaq DOS computer would be one of the coolest Techie items ever. And that is indisputably obsolete. I would correct this right away, but I thought the talk page should be turned to first.--65.102.168.16 20:33, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fast Food=
The stuff about fast food is not really appropriate fodder for an Encyclopedia. All I can say is: speak for yourself. I and my crew eat well. If you have no time to go and get proper food, sack the guy who does your schedules.
- You are very lucky then. And I do my schedule, and with an all-day job with one person, it's not easy to make it to a four star restaurant. I eat well also--with more than 1 person working, the other can go and get a buffet to go. KeepOnTruckin 22:35, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- My point being: It's not universally true, and doesn't belong in the Encyclopedia. Bryson430 12:51, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] More meaning to Techie than just tech obsessed
Techie is also often used as slang to describe someone who operates or oversees the operation of technical equipment and systems in any industry. This could be the help desk guy in a major office building, or a military radio technician. The only real requirement to having this label applied is that equipment that the individual operates/repairs is seen by others as "mystery black-box" technology. MCG
