Later note: This fair-use image is not for use in an article, but it is relevant to the above discussion. The above discussion links to this image. So the image needs to be retained. The creator of the image uploaded the image, and also filed this bug report: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13252 that references this image. As such, it is ineligible for copyright in the United States and therefore is in the public domain.

This does not apply to vector format images of fonts, such as SVG.
