[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Jani Allan in Style magazine.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Jani Allan in Style magazine.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:11, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Hazel Crane
A tag has been placed on Hazel Crane requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Tan | 39 00:02, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] March 2008
Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Hazel Crane. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Tan | 39 00:09, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Hazel Crane. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. Tan | 39 00:17, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to South Africa, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. --HiltonLange (talk) 04:32, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. --HiltonLange (talk) 05:55, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Charlton Heston image
Image:ZJuliet_with_Charlton_Heston.JPG which you uploaded currently says under licensing "I, the author of this work, hereby publish it under the following licenses..." Earlier, you said you have not met her, so if you're not the photographer, are you the copyright holder? Zaian (talk) 07:03, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
- OK, if it's not your image but you have permission to release it, its current licensing information is misleading, because it says "I, the author of this work, hereby publish it under the following licenses". These are the instructions when you upload an image by someone else with their permission:
- If the copyright holder agrees to release the image under a free license such as the GFDL, please forward that letter to "permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org". This ensures that the Wikipedia Foundation has a record of the license in case questions should arise at a later time.
- Please clearly indicate in the summary below:
- 1. The original source of the image, including the copyright holder's name and, if applicable, the URL where you downloaded the image
- 2. A statement about your discussion with the copyright holder telling under what license he or she agreed to release the image
