[edit] Article problems
The problem with this article is that it consisted almost entirely of lists of random teachers colleges. This is largely due to the fact that this article originated as a DAB page, but that doesn't justify maintaining these odd lists. Not only did the article violate WP:V and WP:OR, but it was of little value. I've removed the lists, and the article is now a stub. Hopefully it can be developed into a good article. The former DAB function is better handled through use of categories. Skeezix1000 (talk) 14:13, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I think its reasonable to maintain the page as a DAB with schools that are actually/currently (not formerly) named teachers college. Dialectric (talk) 16:55, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- That's not a proper use of a DAB page, though. WP:MOSDAB and WP:D are both quite clear - DAB pages are not intended to contain entries that merely contain part of the DAB title (e.g. Toronto Teachers College), as DAB pages are not search indices. What would likely be of far more use to the reader would be a list of worldwide teachers colleges, regardless of their name (much like, for example, Lists of law schools or List of medical schools). It looks like someone started such a list at List of normal schools by country, but it has been neglected and is woefully incomplete. Skeezix1000 (talk) 17:16, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Teachers College → Teachers college — The article pertains to a generic type of educational institution. It is not a proper noun, and therefore there is no need for a cap on "college". —Skeezix1000 (talk) 14:27, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

- Support, as nominator. Skeezix1000 (talk) 14:28, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- Support. Teachers College, capitalized and without further qualification, refers to a college of Columbia University. Station1 (talk) 15:22, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks for the heads up. I added a DAB line to that effect at the top of the article. Skeezix1000 (talk) 15:35, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
