TEAMelbourne

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TEAMelbourne is a partnership between five Melbourne-based major sporting organisations. The founding members are the Melbourne Football Club, the Melbourne Tigers basketball club, the Melbourne Storm rugby league club, the Melbourne Racing Club and Netball Victoria.

Announced on 12 June 2007, the not-for-profit organisation is to be based at the new 31,000-seat Olympic Park Stadium, which is due to be completed in 2009. While the organisation may expand in future, it will only include a maximum of one club per sporting code.[1]

A notable sporting club which declined to be involved is the Melbourne Victory A-league soccer club.[2]
