TDS Telecom, a wholly owned subsidiary of Telephone and Data Systems, is a telecommunications company offering choices for local, long-distance, broadband and entertainment solutions. The company serves rural and suburban communities in 30 states across the nation through its incumbent local exchange carrier (ILEC) business as well as through its competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) business, which operates under the brand TDS Metrocom. With more than 1.1 million access line equivalents, TDS Telecom provides locally based telecommunication services to rural and suburban communities in 29 states. TDS Telecom’s Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC) serves more than 725,000 access line equivalents in 28 states. TDS Telecom’s Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC) operates under the brand name TDS Metrocom and serves more than 426,000 access line equivalents in five states. TDS also provides dialup and broadband internet access.
